Hey guys! I know its been awhile...needless to say I have been very, very busy. Work has been crazy, and on top of all of that I had to get my "little" girl all ready to graduate from high school....wow...I can't believe that she will be going off to college this fall. Ohhh...don't get me started, I'll start crying all over again....
But, I digress....let me move on to something more interesting for you! I have recently been shopping at Sephora, like a fiend actually...and you all know how much I love MAC and that has not changed one bit. But a girl needs something different every now and again...wink, wink.
With Sephora you get an amazing selection of products to chose from, but you can often find a product genius...now I have one...her name is Stephanie and this girl knows her sh*t when it comes to products. So much so that when I do have a line of my own I am stealing her! But again, I digress...
One of the other great things about Sephora is that you can become a "Beauty Insider" and with this magical little card can earn points as you buy. And when you check out you can use those points to get great little items! Oh! And you get a great little gift as well if you are shopping near your birthday...sweet!
Now, I was recently was on one of my shopping excursions to Sephora....these are always very costly to my bank account by the way...and when I got to the register after my time with Stephanie, I swear I was there like 2 hours...it was crazy. I presented my card and had 500 points, and with my points I was able to get this great Two Faced Eye Shadow set. After trying it, I completely love, love, love their "Push Up" & "Ever After" Shadows! And I loved the fact that I got to try them for free, and will definitely be buying more Two Faced for my kit and myself....
This is what makes the card so amazing is that you can try all these great new products without having to spend money...well, more money...and I have NO problem spending in Sephora, but I truly enjoy getting something for free!
So, I definitely encourage you to become a "Beauty Insider"...the perks are great, and its free to join...so you have nothing to lose!
As always you know where to find me....

Staying beautiful with Kroma Makeup

Hey guys....I wanted to tell everyone that I have taken on a new venture! I am going to be working with Kroma Makeup....
I am going to be at The Plaza Hotel in New York every Friday afternoon to help with everyone's makeup needs. This makeup line is very exciting, they have a great primer and the line is primarily waterproof...this due to the fact that they are out of the Florida area and are used to the hot weather...AND...Kroma also does custom blending....yeah...you heard me!
They have a ton of great colors and an amazing collection of foundations, concealers and powders....I am really excited to be working with Kroma!
But....I am only there on Fridays so be sure to come see me then! Otherwise you'll miss me...
So if you have any questions let me know...and for those for you that have left me comments, thank you so very much..they are greatly appreciated! There will be more makeup tips coming in the future, I promise!
And as always...
Stay beautiful,
Kirsten

A "Brush" with beauty......
As an artist when I paint, I could never do it without my brushes....the same could be said for when I'm doing makeup. I am always asked if brushes are important and I can truly say that they are....
They are the tools for great makeup application! And investing in good brushes is key....a good set of brushes will not only last you a long time they could save you on makeup. Yep, that's right...save you on makeup...huh. Never thought of that one, did ya?
The reason good brushes can help save makeup is, for example, a foundation brush does not absorb the foundation the way a sponge does (nor will it contaminate it like your hands will) so you end saving about half your foundation. A good natural hair brush that you would use for shadow or powder will hold on to the color product, helping save you from wasting it by using a cheaper synthetic one...less product goes out into the air.

This is a good time of year to get quality brush sets for a great price....my favorite MAC has some great deals on short handled versions of their brushes! You can get some of the same types deals from other major cosmetics companies, but don't wait long, and Sephora is a great place to start....
Always remember that the better your tools are, the better your makeup will be. With good makeup and tools, your makeup will turn out beautifully no matter what look you are going for....
As always you know where to find me!

Hi everyone! I know that its been forever since I have been on my blog...and I sincerely apologize.
My work schedule has been very, very hectic and I haven't been able to keep up on my "social media"....oooh bad makeup artist!!
So what to talk about today? Hmmmm....well with the holidays fast approaching and Xmas already being shoved down our throats and turkey day hasn't even gone by yet....I'm like, really?? The pressure is on the be at our best already...
What I hear from a lot of women is that they don't take the time to do their makeup simply because they don't know how...this can be easily solved by finding a makeup that you trust to teach a few tricks. This can help you to learn new makeup tricks as well as simplify your beauty regimen. Makeup should be fun, and learning new ways to use it can help you find new looks.
Some ways you can find makeup artist are to go to your local department stores, Macy's or Nordstrom's....my personal favorite....or of course the MAC Cosmetics stores or counters have artists that can offer applications/lessons. And many of them have freelance artists that will come to you and give you a private lesson. I offer this type of private lesson, when my schedule allows. So you can contact me for information if you are interested.
To find someone see how they do their own makeup and that's a good gauge of what they will do on you. But do remember they are a makeup artist and will most likely be wearing more eye shadow or blush then you might, and can adjust this. Just get an idea of their technique with their own makeup.
Best of luck....and as always you know where to find me!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving...gobble, gobble

New Makeup Looks for Fall
I know that summer is coming to its end, and we have to embrace fall....I personally welcome it. I love the cooler weather and am especially happy with the colors that out for this season! They are some of my favorites from the show this year and I cannot wait to start to wear them....
So let's see what's in store for this upcoming fall...First we have my personal favorites purples and plums...
These colors are my favs and look amazing with matching colors, grays and blacks....I just love them!
Our next set is the golds and tans, they are such universal colors....they go with everything and can work on pretty much every one's skin tone. Gold is best worn when it has a some shimmer to it. You just need to find your level of "glow".....

And the best part of these beautiful colors is you can be as bold as you like, and it can still look soft. Just add some black or dark brown liners and shadows to amp up the look.
And of course there are, greens....yep I said it....green. Now these aren't your lime crazy greens these are the soft muted greens that look beautiful on the skin. They almost melt right into it. Though you can do some crazy things with it.

The last look of course is the simple red or berry lip...with this keep it simple on the eyes. Unless of course you are doing a pinup look....but that's something different. Otherwise keep the rest of the face clean and fresh, to draw attention to the lips...

So there are a lot of color choices for the season, some bold and some simple and clean. So take your pick and enjoy....but be sure to try something new and have fun with it!
As always...
Stay Beautiful,
Kirsten

Skin is in....
Hello everyone!! I know I have been away for some time, my schedule has been CRAZY!! While that is no excuse for not keeping up with my blog, I know...its the truth. I wanted to talk about something today that I have noticed is a trend with some of my clients and models....
Skin....
We have touched on this before, but I want to talk about the ugly part of it...acne. Ugh, Ick....I know....it happens to a lot of us at some point in our lives. And to some in adulthood. It can be very distressing... you go through your teenage years, thinking you slid by with great skin and then...the Pimple Fairy comes along and...Wham! And there you are, stuck with breakouts. But there are some basic tricks that can help you keep your skin clear, whether you are having minor or major issues.
First and Foremost....Keep your hands off of your face!! Everything you touch during the day
is put on your skin every time you touch your face. All those gross germs
and bacteria from God know who or what....(sounds like your Mom, right? I am one...sorry)
Second ...................Don't pick at you face! This is vital to keep you from scarring as well
as keeping your skin clearer. I know this is a hard one, but pimples will go
away better on their own if they are left alone...And no scarring!
Third..........................Change your pillow case every other day. This may sound odd, but even
with washing your face every night, you are putting your "clean" face on a
pillow case that has oil and dander on it from a week or more. This is then
getting pushed back into your "clean" skin, clogging your pores and can
cause breakouts. This is one is amazing!
Fourth.......................Keep your phones clean. Try to keep your cell phone and landlines clean.
You can go to your local drugstore or grocery store and purchase alcohol
wipes to keep oil and bacteria off of your phones.
Fifth and Finally.......Wash your face LAST in the shower. When you shower, shampoo and
condition your hair first...shower.... shave (if needed)...rinse and then wash
your face LAST. This will keep any of the conditioner from running down
onto your face in the shower. And as always, I do recommend that you
exfoliate a couple of time a week (mixed in with your face wash) to help
remove the dead skin cells and unclog your pores!
Well I hope that some of this information helps....you can always contact me if you have any questions! Keeping your skin clear is always the best start for any beauty regimen!
Promise not to stay away so long....
Stay Beautiful....
Kirsten
